About Amanda

Hi, I’m Amanda, an Indiana-based artist with a passion for creativity and connection. A graduate of Herron School of Art, I have spent over 2 decades blending traditional techniques like watercolor and acrylic with digital artistry to create work that sparks joy and imagination. I bring a family-friendly, vibrant style to my work, often featuring whimsical themes that connect audiences of all ages.

My portfolio includes collaborations with clients such as Santa Clara Co. Libraries, IMAX theater, the Indianapolis Zoo, and bands for poster art, showcasing the versatility of my talents. Over the years, I’ve been honored with multiple group and solo exhibitions, both locally and nationally, and was recognized as one of Indianapolis’ best artists by NUVO Magazine for three consecutive years (2015-2017).

As a gallery director, published children’s book author, and art educator with six years of teaching experience, I love inspiring others — whether through private lessons or my painting party business, Indy Arty Party, I strive to bring creativity to many diverse communities. Currently, I am exploring new opportunities, including an upcoming repeat residency at the Indiana State Museum, where I’ll continue to push artistic boundaries.

What I make

  • Illustrations. Engaging illustrations blending traditional techniques with digital artistry. From children’s books to posters for bands, my work showcases creativity and adaptability across projects.
  • Fine arts. Solo and group exhibitions, commissions, and national showcases. Trained in watercolor and acrylic, I also now embrace digital mediums to bring fresh perspectives to fine art.
  • Murals and window designs. Vibrant, artistic style for large-scale businesses, schools, and private homes. Each piece is personalized for the interior or exterior space.

Teaching & community

  • K-8 classroom. Six years teaching drawing, painting, and mixed media at Saint Michael — Saint Gabriel School.
  • Community libraries and camps. Four consecutive years (2023-2026) of grant-funded classes across all Marion County Library branches — youth and adult learners. Six YMCA art camps with curriculum I designed, developed, and taught.
  • Museum education. Indiana State Museum Artist in Residence (2019, 2023, 2024, 2025) and visiting workshop instructor.
  • Private & community. Indy Arty Party workshops, Re-Generation Indy, Indianapolis Zoo family programs, and private instructions. Member of Doodle Crew Artist Collective for 7+ years.
